Sunday July 31st, 2016 - Pirates event at Discovery Harbour
Last Saturday, July 30, The Ship's Company had a great day participating in the new “Pirates of the Bay” event in Penetanguishene and DiscoveryHarbour. Intrepid crew of H.M.S. Badger were stationed at the King’s Wharf at Discovery Harbour throughout the day with a hands-on on artifact table, kid’s knot tying with lots of little folk, and bracelet sales (Birdie sold out and could hardly keep up with demand!). We also did some Sea Chanties for visitors, and did two on-water “skirmishes” where we rounded Magazine Island and engaged the Pirates who were inhabiting the historic site, all with large crowds watching. The event was a tremendous success, with site attendance close to 2000 people for the day!
