Friday June 1st, 2018 - Georgian Bay Expedition 2018

Due to the success of the Trent Expedition 2017, we have organized and Expedition up to Snug Harbour and back. Here is the tentative schedule.

Mon Jun 25, Day 1

Depart Penetang Dock at 9am

Sail via open water to O’Donnell point if the weather is fair OR

Motor via small craft route to O’Donnell Pt.

Stop at outhouse on Giants Tomb for a washroom break

Go up 12 Mile Bay to Moose Deer Point Marina. Leave the boat for the night and shuttle home.

Tues, Jun 26, Day 2

Meet at town dock at 8am, shuttle to Marina at 12 Mile Bay

Sail to Sans Souci for washroom break and maybe ice cream

Sail to Snug Harbour. Depending on conditions, we can sail Wabuno Channel or South channel and through Parry Sound. Either way, we shouldn’t miss going thru Canoe Channel

Dock and stay the night at Snug Haven Cottages. Check it out on Google or Tripadvisor

We have reserved 2 cottages, each with 3 bedrooms. Gilly’s famous fish and chip restaurant is nearby or you can cook your own supper. Jo-Anne is willing to pre-stock the fridge with food, beer and other luggage.

Wed, Jun 27, Day 3

Leave Snug Harbour at 9am (We will return to same cottages so leave your stuff there)

Circumnavigate Franklin Island. Maybe eat lunch at West Hbr or sail to Mink Islands, an old fishing station.

Return to Snug Haven cottages for supper and the night.

Thurs, Jun 28, Day 4

Leave Snug Hbr at 9am

Go to 12 Mile Bay via a different route, stopping at San Souci for ice cream.

Leave our boat(s) at Moose Deer Point Marina at 12 Mile Bay, shuttle home

Fri, Jun 29, Day 5

Meet at Penetang town dock at 9am. Shuttle to 12 Mile Bay

Sail from 12 Mile Bay to Penetang via a different route than before.
