The Shakedown Regatta is becoming a welcome tradition for the towns of Penetanguishene and Midland. The crew of HMS Badger once again put our town`s Mayors to work aboard our vessels. Badger traversed the waters between Penetang and Midland, leading a regatta, as Badger and the other vessels put their newly rigged vessels ¨Through the Ropes¨.
The highlight of the event was on Sunday. HMS Badger returned to her berth at the Penetang Town Dock to help christen our newest vessel HMS Lynx. The weather was great and the turnout was phenomenal. Lynx was christened with both a glass of Pussers Rum and a glass of 1812 merlot cabernet. After the reciting of the traditional Naval Prayer, lead by Reverend George Taylor, and a dramatic blowing of the conch to honour King Neptune, HMS Lynx set out on her maiden voyage into Penetang Bay. We hope that HMS Lynx shall have a long and prosperous life under the stewardship of The Ships Company.
HUZZA!
